Job summary

Hy-Vee in the United States is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Clerk. You will fill customer orders, prep and replenish products, and keep the department running smoothly while delivering friendly service that makes customers feel welcome.

Your role includes maintaining product freshness, following sanitation procedures, and supporting daily operations from checkout to kitchen prep. Training will be provided; prior experience is not required, and the environment is fast-paced and team-oriented.

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers and contribute to the team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer with a smile and assisting them throughout the store.
• Develop or follow a production list to ensure adequate food supply for the day.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product and pull items from the cooler/freezer for cooking.
• Monitor freshness and quality standards throughout the shift.
• Check in product, store it properly, and review invoices as needed.
• Operate the department register, handle payments, and make change as applicable.
• Maintain sanitation standards and a clean, safe workspace at all times.
• Remove trash and wash dishes as necessary.
• Order products and supplies and price for customers as needed.
• Answer the phone promptly and provide friendly service, including taking orders.
