Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Sweden is seeking a Lead Engineer Plants to lead technical design across Plants and Civil disciplines for onshore HVDC converter stations and offshore platforms. You will coordinate global teams, drive technical decisions, and ensure interfaces meet customer requirements and project goals.

You will interact with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, guide tenders and projects, manage risks, and support installation and commissioning with expert guidance.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related).
• At least 5 years of engineering experience with leading technical teams.
• Experience in HVDC, transmission systems, substations, or large energy projects.
• Strong leadership and communication across functions and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical leadership across Plants and Civil teams and their interfaces.
• Primary contact for technical communication with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive completion of engineering activities in tenders and projects with technical leads and managers.
• Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with quality, safety and engineering processes.
• Support installation and commissioning activities with expert technical guidance.
• Lead development of new technical solutions while interpreting customer needs.
• Define Plants and Civil solutions for onshore HVDC stations and offshore platforms.
• Coordinate engineering activities across Electromechanical, Power Systems, Civil, and Auxiliaries.
• Ensure coordination and management of interfaces between engineering disciplines.
• Represent the Plants discipline in meetings and technical reviews.
