Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks a Project Director for the HVDC North America program. You will lead large-scale EPC mega-projects, drive on-time delivery, and manage a diverse, global team to ensure safety, quality, and project success.

The role requires a strong track record in power generation, transmission and distribution, or HVDC projects, with excellent English communication and PMP/ PMI exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent fluency in written and spoken English.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale EPC/turnkey projects in power, energy, industrial, infrastructure or oil & gas sectors.
• Experience in power generation, transmission & distribution, or power conversion (HVDC, substations, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of multi-million-dollar EPC mega-projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
• Provide strong leadership for a large global and diverse team, including project managers and other specialists.
• Foster a culture of safety, prioritizing health and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proactively manage change, assess risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Take full ownership of project P&L, leading budget planning and execution.
• Build strong relationships and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and business partners.
