Dixie Tech in St. George, Utah, seeks an HVACR Technician program instructor to deliver engaging lectures and hands-on lab instruction and to develop curricula that prepare students for industry employment.

The role emphasizes creating an active learning environment, updating syllabi, and aligning coursework with COE standards while supporting student success and program growth in a public technical college setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in industry required.
• Have EPA 608 certification.
• Have Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) certification or equivalent.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or Industry Recognized Certificate Program completion.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Teaching/training experience preferred.
• Contacts with local industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite applications.
• Strong communications and presentation skills.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on lab instruction. Develop and update curriculum, syllabi, and lesson plans to ensure industry-relevant, effective, and skills-based learning experiences and outcomes.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives and well-defined competencies for the program and all learning activities.
• Ensure the classroom and lab are prepared for daily learning activities.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments in a timely manner.
• Structure classes in Canvas to support student learning.
• Observe, evaluate, and record students' performance and development, and provide appropriate and helpful feedback.
• Conduct and document student reviews with students on a regular basis.
• Involve Student Services when problems develop before they become critical.
