Job summary

The instructor will plan, implement, and assess instruction, manage labs, and collaborate with Student Services and industry partners to support student success and employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience required.
• Experience in the heavy equipment industry strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or industry-recognized certificates required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Teaching/training experience preferred.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Contacts with local industry preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate with students, staff, and colleagues; adapt to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Actively create and update classroom syllabi, curriculum, lab experiences, and lesson plans.
• Develop and deliver active, hands-on learning experiences for students.
• Maintain a structured learning environment in line with the syllabus.
• Establish clear objectives and competencies for the program.
• Ensure classrooms and labs are prepared for daily activities.
• Structure classes in Canvas to support student learning.
• Observe, evaluate, and document student performance and provide feedback.
• Ensure safety standards and COE accreditation compliance.
• Collaborate with department director, admissions, and recruiters to fill cohorts.
• Assist with accreditation documentation and industry partnerships.
