Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an HVAC Technician specializing in refrigerant systems and controls in Houston, TX. The role focuses on hands-on service, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and energy efficiency across managed properties.

You will diagnose and repair VRF/VRV, chillers, DX units, heat pumps, and RTUs, perform refrigerant work per EPA standards, and support BAS/BMS-related commissioning and testing.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• TDLR Class B HVAC license (Must have).
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing refrigerant-based HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Working knowledge of safety procedures and electrical systems.
• Experience with building automation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair refrigerant-based HVAC equipment including VRF/VRV systems, chillers, DX units, heat pumps, and rooftop units (RTUs).
• Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, brazing, and compressor repairs with EPA compliance.
• Troubleshoot electrical components, low‑voltage controls, sensors, and automation devices.
• Monitor and verify system performance using diagnostics and superheat/subcooling analysis.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and document findings, repairs, and refrigerant usage.
• Support startups, commissioning, and functional testing for new equipment.
• Communicate issues and solutions to facility teams and management.
