Job summary

TMC WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS INC in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair climate control and refrigeration systems for residential and commercial clients.

You will mount and connect components, perform routine tune-ups, diagnose faults with diagnostic tools, and handle refrigerants per EPA rules. Strong safety awareness and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus completion of an HVAC vocational program.
• EPA 608 Certification (required for handling refrigerants).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces like attics or crawl spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair climate control and refrigeration systems to ensure residential and commercial units operate safely and efficiently.
• Mount and connect HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporator coils, and ductwork according to technical blueprints and safety codes.
• Perform routine tune-ups (cleaning ducts, replacing filters) and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools like multimeters.
• Handle, recover, and recycle refrigerants in strict compliance with EPA regulations.
• Wire low-voltage connections, thermostats, and control systems linked to HVAC units.
• Explain system issues, provide repair estimates, and sell maintenance service contracts to clients.
