The University of South Carolina is seeking an HVAC/EMS Technician I for USC Aiken Housing in Aiken, SC. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical and HVAC equipment across housing residences, with after-hours on-call rotations and a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities include repairing HVAC components, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

Requires a technical school accreditation or skilled trades program.
Two or more years of job-related experience.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the HVAC systems including repair/replacement of compressors, coils, controllers, actuator motors, motor drives (VFDS), pressure transmitters and other related equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment; rebuilds pumps and compressors; changes air filters: repairs exhaust fans, water circulating pumps, air compressors, air handlers, etc.
Performs maintenance, repair/replacement and installation on mechanical and electrical systems. Systems include motors, pumps, electrical appliances/fixtures, lamps, receptacles/light switches and specialized equipment. Repairs simple electrical systems.
Other related duties as assigned.
