Position Title: HVAC Technician
Reports to: Contract Manager
Location: Palo Alto, CA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:00pm
Position Summary: Aldevra is hiring a qualified on-call HVAC Technician to provide heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration support at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. The candidate will have at least four years of journeyman-level experience, strong technical knowledge of HVAC theory and controls, and the ability to work independently in diverse and physically demanding environments. This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Repairing, maintaining, modifying, and performing preventive maintenance on industrial HVAC systems
- Fabricating ductwork and installing units, including rooftop and ceiling-mounted equipment
- Troubleshooting refrigeration units, freezers, heat pumps, and chillers
- Using electronic meters and thermometers to balance systems and perform diagnostics
- Responding to emergency repair requests and maintaining service logs
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Security Requirements:- Must be able to obtain VA badge.
Workplace Safety and Environment:Work is performed in mechanical spaces, rooftops, and patient-care areas. Requires adherence to OSHA and VA safety standards. Exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and moving equipment is expected. Must use PPE and lift up to 50 lbs.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications:- Minimum 4 years journeyman-level HVAC experience
- Skilled in interpreting and working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specs
- Knowledge of HVAC principles, including pressure/temperature relationships and system cycling
- Experience with air balancing and leak detection
- Must be able to work independently and perform emergency repairs
- Physically capable of lifting 100 lbs and working in confined, elevated, or dirty environments
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Excellent and accurate written communication.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required.
- Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry.
- Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic.
- Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality.
