Job summary

Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is seeking an HVAC Technician for the Northern District to maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install HVAC systems across multiple facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning and servicing large HVAC/R equipment, reading wiring diagrams, and coordinating with vendors to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires a minimum of three years of HVAC experience or an equivalent combination of education and work.

Qualifications

• Three years experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems (boiler, chillers, air handlers, control systems, etc.) to meet standards.
• A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience equal to three years.
• Must possess a current and valid Universal CFC Certification and attach certification to application.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install HVAC equipment across a large multi-building campus in compliance with codes and standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R systems, including filters and coils.
• Monitor water treatment levels in cooling systems and coordinate with vendors to correct variations.
• Repair large scale refrigeration equipment and ensure proper piping sizing per regulations.
• Read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical/low voltage circuits; use multimeters to measure values.
• Troubleshoot building automation controls (electric, pneumatic, DDC) to ensure proper operation.
