Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. seeks a Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC, to lead client mechanical services for data center operations. You will install, service, maintain and operate essential equipment, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and high reliability.

You will mentor junior technicians and guide on-site operations to improve efficiency and uptime. A strong background in large commercial HVAC and building automation is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of large commercial HVAC service experience; 8 years preferred.
  • EPA Universal Certification is required.
  • Journeyman HVAC license is required.
  • OSHA Certification is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; able to pass background checks and obtain security clearance if needed.
  • Georgia driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
  • Operate and maintain pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive controls, as well as HVAC air distribution systems such as AHUs, FCUs, and fans.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and back up Building Automation Software as required.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all contractual commitments related to mechanical services.
  • Respond to after-hours and emergency service calls as needed, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians, supporting their professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall facility operations.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Job description

As a Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC, you will serve as the lead technician overseeing all client mechanical services and maintenance for data center operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and providing expert guidance on the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of essential mechanical equipment. The position offers the opportunity to mentor junior technicians and play a key role in supporting the reliability and efficiency of critical infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
  • Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
  • Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification required.
  • Current/active Journeyman HVAC license required.
  • OSHA Certification required.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete any required client background checks or training.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is preferred.
