Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Technician to join the Seton NorthWest Hospital maintenance team in Austin, TX. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing HVAC, ventilation, and related systems within a hospital facility.

Day shift, full-time schedule in a safety-conscious environment. Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, coordinating work orders, and adhering to building codes and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification (level II preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of trade school
• 3 years of related experience
• Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs all heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
• Applies specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies, manages power outage procedures, and strictly follows safety protocols using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinates with personnel regarding work orders, ensures compliance with building and safety regulations, and keeps tools and vehicles in safe operating condition.
• Dedicates 20% of the role to participating in meetings, training workshops, and assisting with special projects as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of trade school.
