Valparaiso University is seeking an HVAC Technician I to perform maintenance, service, and repairs on a range of complex HVAC systems, including chillers and boilers, with BAS interaction. The role requires diagnosing issues, reading blueprints, and coordinating with other trades.
A valid driver’s license and refrigerant certification are required. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, coil and motor work, and responding to anomalies in pressure and temperature.
The HVAC Technician I is responsible for performing complete maintenance, operation, service and repairs to a wide variety of complex commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air-handlers, heat pumps, circulation pumps, cooling coils and refrigeration equipment. The HVAC Technician will test systems; adjust controls, balance flow, assure functionality, and has the ability to work with building automation systems (BAS).
