Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is seeking an HVAC Technician for a first shift (8:00 am–4:30 pm, Mon–Fri) to support facilities maintenance in a healthcare environment. The role involves diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems across multiple hospital-related equipment and services.

You will document work via CMMS, coordinate with staff and vendors, and handle preventive maintenance tasks, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting.
• HVAC certification or license required or highly preferred.
• Experience working with blueprints and schematics.
• General understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Rudimentary ability to operate hand-operated construction equipment and lift 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device.
• Helps settle staff, material needs, and timelines for jobs and projects.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs, and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, food service equipment, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Assists in making decisions on all repairs and reports major problems to the Manager as appropriate.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or related facilities, using power and hand tools.
• Reviews outside vendor projects and creates punch lists.
• Analyzes and corrects sophisticated building system problems and electro/mechanical issues related to utilities.
• Supports project management activity as needed.
• Responds to emergency problems in the facility and makes emergency repairs.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds, and completes PM work orders, tests, and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Maintains shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
