Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Vocational/Technical Program, supplemented by an accredited apprenticeship in HVAC operations.
• Three to five years of experience in HVAC maintenance, installation and repair.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Repairs HVAC systems in municipal buildings and utility areas.
• Answers service calls as needed.
• Troubleshoots and replaces parts as necessary.
• Coordinates installation of new HVAC equipment.
• Trains staff in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and lubrication of equipment.
• Monitors and adjusts pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls for proper operation.
• Interacts with vendors and contractors as needed.
