Job summary

Pinal County is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform installation, maintenance, testing and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in county facilities under basic supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, repairing equipment, and coordinating with other trades to ensure safe, compliant operations. A high school diploma or GED, 3 years of HVAC experience, and EPA Technician Certification are required; Arizona residency is preferred for some positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three years of experience installing and repairing HVAC systems and components.
• Completion of HVAC vocational school or apprenticeship training.
• Completion of EPA Technician Certification Program.
• Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Repair HVAC problems in county facilities per codes, estimating project hours and costs.
• Check and monitor HVAC systems and Energy Management System reports for issues.
• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment and control systems using diagnostic tools.
• Lead projects and review work to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Maintain work orders, track materials, and submit reports.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards and problems promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of county information.

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Completion of HVAC vocational school or apprenticeship training

Completion of United States Environmental Protection Agency Technician Certification Program

Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements
