Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an entry-level HVAC on-site technician in Davenport, IA, to assist with installation and repair of environmental control systems. You will work with seasoned technicians, learn through paid instruction and on-the-job training, and contribute to customer satisfaction by ensuring quality service.

No prior industry experience is required, but a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist seasoned Service Technicians with installation and repair of environmental control systems.
• Service products, equipment, and systems at customer locations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify, examine, diagnose, and plan equipment repairs.
• Work with supervising field technicians, project managers, and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations.
• Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
• Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
• Enforce high safety standards.
• Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
• Participate in the Trane Commercial HVAC Technician Apprenticeship Program, including paid instruction and on-the-job training.

Requirements

• No industry experience required
• Must be at least 18 years of age when starting
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
• No major or frequent traffic violations in the last 3 years
• Strong desire to learn a trade and directly impact the world
• Technical school certificates and/or formal HVAC training/experience are not required but may be considered when determining proficiency level and starting compensation
• Must meet safety-sensitive role requirements, which may include additional drug screening
