Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks an experienced HVAC Service Technician to be the primary on-site contact for commercial customers in a defined market. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and startup HVAC systems, coordinating with project managers and customers to align on-site requirements.

Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of HVAC systems with strong safety focus and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC.
  • EPA certification and valid driver's license required or preferred.
  • Proficient with chilled water systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for customers in a defined commercial market.
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments.
  • Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, and customers to understand on-site requirements.
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
  • Serve as direct customer contact for assigned projects.
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specs to diagnose and repair units.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of assets.
  • Record asset use, wear, and conditions.

Job description

  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined commercial market
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments
  • Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Serve as the direct customer contact for assigned projects
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Record asset use, wear, and conditions
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • Typically 5 plus years of experience in commercial HVAC
  • Proficiency with chilled water systems
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • EPA Certification
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, including occasional overnight stays
  • Ability to meet safety-sensitive role requirements, including additional drug screening if required
