Job summary

Evergreen Talent Partners seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to service large commercial accounts across Richmond and Virginia Beach, VA. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, RTUs, chillers, and data center environments while supporting startups and retrofits.

Candidates should have a solid commercial HVAC foundation, strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant systems, and a drive for ongoing skill development within

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience required.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Experience with large commercial maintenance contracts strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant systems.
• Experience in K-12, higher education, heavy commercial, or data center environments preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• NATE certification or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfortable using basic computer systems, service software, and factory diagnostic tools.
• Strong communication skills with customers, coordinators, and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across large commercial HVAC contracts.
• Service and troubleshoot VRF/VRV systems, VFDs, AHUs, RTUs, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment.
• Support data center HVAC environments including precision cooling, CRAC, and CRAH systems.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, equipment replacement, installation, and retrofit work.
• Troubleshoot refrigerant circuits, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and warranty documentation accurately and on time.
• Work closely with service coordinators on daily scheduling and customer priorities.
• Mentor junior technicians as experience level warrants.
• Operate company vehicles safely to and from job sites.
• Maintain a strong focus on personal and jobsite safety.

Role Overview

The HVAC Technician will perform hands-on service, maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, and repair work across large commercial environments. Customers include K-12 schools, universities, heavy commercial facilities, and data center/mission-critical sites.
