Job summary

Medxcel is seeking an on-site Facilities HVAC Technician at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Core duties include maintaining and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy systems, with after-hours emergency coverage and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The role requires EPA Certification (level II preferred), a high school diploma or trade school graduate, and at least 3 years of related experience. Proactive collaboration in meetings and projects is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
  • Applies knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies and follows safety protocols with PPE.
  • Coordinates with work orders, ensures compliance with building and safety regulations, keeps tools/vehicles safe.
  • Allocates 20% of time to meetings, training workshops, and special projects.

Responsibilities
How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs all heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies, manages power outage procedures, and strictly follows safety protocols using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinates with personnel regarding work orders, ensures compliance with building and safety regulations, and keeps tools and vehicles in safe operating condition.
  • Dedicates 20% of the role to participating in meetings, training workshops, and assisting with special projects as assigned.
