Job summary

Alamance County Government seeks a Maintenance Specialist (HVAC) to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical and building systems across county facilities. The role involves independent work and supervising semi-skilled staff, under the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Management Director.

On-call rotations are required for evening and weekend emergencies; regular hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional night work. EPA 608 preferred and NC Driver's license required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; four years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC maintenance.
• EPA Section 608 Certification is preferred.
• Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License and maintain a safe driving history as defined by Alamance County Vehicle Use Policy.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains varied heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Performs general and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
• Ensure that all installations are done in accordance with set standards.
• Make sure calibration of thermostats and other system controls are accurately set.
• Performs checks on motors and belts.
• Repairs motors and services to hot water boilers.
