Job summary

Lenoir Community College is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician – HVAC to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and related controls. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on keeping facilities reliable and safe.

The ideal candidate has significant HVAC experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. NC driver's license is required, and the position may involve lifting and climbing as part of routine inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Significant experience in HVAC system repair, maintenance, and controls is required.
• Experience demonstrating ability to perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills are essential.
• Detail oriented with good attention to accuracy.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay focused while working independently.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and controls.
• Perform minor/major repairs of buildings and selected equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on buildings on a scheduled/work order basis.
• Assist with renovation/remodeling of buildings.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Operate a forklift.
• Perform preventative maintenance on Lenoir Community College vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work site.
• Other duties as assigned.
