Job summary

College of the Desert is seeking an adjunct instructor for Air Cooling, Refrigeration, and Heating (HVAC) on a part-time basis. Classes may be held at the Palm Desert Campus or other district sites, with day, evening, or weekend schedules.

Compensation depends on qualifications and the CODAA contract. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications, including relevant degree and professional experience, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or associate degree and six years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet classes/lab on day and times assigned.
• Develop and implement instruction for each class/lab period which is consistent with the official course outline.
• Develop and distribute the first week of class, a written syllabus for each course to communicate to students course objectives, grading criteria, and classroom policies.
• Demonstrate respect for student rights as specified in District policy and applicable laws.
• Ensure course textbooks and instructional materials are made available to students in a timely manner.
