Job summary

The HVAC Maintenance Technician at SSC Services for Education performs skilled maintenance duties for facilities engineering and maintenance. This role works under a Supervisor, Foreman, or Master Mechanic, applying licensed expertise in one trade to analyze and fix complex problems while ensuring non-license staff follow correct work practices.

Requires a Journeyman license and relevant experience; candidates may be asked to document capabilities in electro-mechanical systems, with varying

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License.
• Experience working with blueprints and schematics. Valid driver's license.
• A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Perform a mixed workload of preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Updates work statuses and documents tasks in the CMMS utilizing a mobile device.
• H elps determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs and projects.
• Repairs HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Reviews outside vendor projects and makes punch lists.
• Responds to emergency problems and performs repairs as needed.
• Maintains logs, PM work orders, tests, and inspections.
