Job summary

Insight Global in Pflugerville, TX seeks an experienced field commissioning technician to test, start up, and validate HVAC equipment and systems on active projects.

You will respond to warranty calls, review manufacturer data, coordinate with project managers, and contribute to safety and documentation efforts throughout startup and commissioning. Attend job-site meetings, create commissioning documents, and perform FIV/OPT/FPT tests while maintaining deficiency logs and adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; completion of a trade/technical training program.
• 4–10 years diagnosing and solving HVAC/operational problems.
• OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications (must be obtained within 6 months if not held).
• Understanding of hydronic/chilled water systems and EMS/BMS controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide field representation and observation during installation, testing and commissioning phases.
• Assist in development, documentation, and execution of each project’s commissioning plan.
• Obtain, review and execute manufacturer’s test plans and procedures.
• Assist project management in scheduling and execution of startup and commissioning.
• Understand startup and commissioning requirements per project specifications and contract documents.
• Attend job site meetings to understand scope and issues.
• Create commissioning documents and review equipment submittals and data.
• Execute FIV, OPT and FPT tests; maintain deficiency log.
• Follow company policies and safety protocols.
• Perform additional assignments as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues during startup or warranty period.
