Job summary

HomeWorks Energy is seeking HVAC Start Up Technicians to install, commission, and troubleshoot systems across Massachusetts. The role involves calibrating equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency, and preparing systems for client handover.

We offer full-time, hourly employment with overtime eligibility and potential bonuses. Locations include Sutton, Springfield, Woburn, Whitman, Wareham, with HQ in Charlestown. EPA 608 and 1+ year experience preferred; NATE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification is required.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of hands‑on HVAC experience, with a focus on system start‑up, commissioning, or installation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems, and control systems.
• Familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment used for HVAC start‑ups and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment per specs.
• Explain operations and maintenance to customers; document activities.
• Collaborate with installation teams to meet schedules and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain safety checks and ensure compliance with regulations.
