Job summary

HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician I to install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, ensuring energy efficiency and safety compliance. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, testing, and precise documentation, with opportunities for overtime and commissions.

This full-time, hourly position covers multiple MA sites, including Wareham, Sutton, Springfield, and more, with benefits and a path for growth within the HVAC team.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is required.
• EPA 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling) is required.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in HVAC with focus on start-up, commissioning, or installation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems, and control systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools used for HVAC start-ups and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles.
• Problem-Solving to troubleshoot issues and achieve optimal performance.
• Excellent communication with team members and clients; explain technical issues clearly.
• Strong attention to detail in service orders and inspections.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance and system start-up, including cleaning and testing HVAC units.
• System testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning; identify and resolve issues.
• Explain operation and maintenance procedures to customers; document activities.
• Collaborate with installation teams, project managers, and customer service.
• Perform additional tasks and shadow junior technicians for on-the-job training.
