Job summary

B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Start Up and Warranty Technician to join our growing team in Florida. You will troubleshoot, service, and repair HVAC and related mechanical systems on large commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Two years field experience in HVAC or related mechanical systems.
• EPA and OSHA 10 Certification required.
• Technical college degree or trade school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service and repair all types of mechanical equipment including HVAC and related electronics.
• Install and service duct systems, DX piping, chilled water piping, thermal storage, and building automation systems.
• Communicate issues and repairs clearly to office and customers; update project timelines as needed.
• Perform tasks with safety and quality standards; stay up-to-date with new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service and repair as needed all types of mechanical equipment including accurate diagnostics of refrigeration and electronics circuits with the ability to repair and replace components as it pertains to HVAC and other mechanical equipment.
• Must be competent in the proper installation and service practices for duct systems, DX piping systems, chilled water piping systems, thermal storage systems and building automation systems.
• Communicate clearly and professionally to the office team and customers about any issues that are discovered, repairs that are required, and/or changes to project time requirements.
• Perform all required tasks and services with precision, adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Keep up to date with new technologies as they emerge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with at least (2) two years of field experience with a track record of quality workmanship.
• A two (2) year Technical College Degree or equivalent Trade School Diploma preferred.
• EPA and OSHA 10 Certification Required
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be competent in the proper installation and service practices for duct systems, DX piping systems, chilled water piping systems, thermal storage systems and building automation systems.
• Clear Driving Record, Drug Test and Background check are required.
• Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; stand for long periods of time.
  This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
• This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment.
