Job summary

SEPTA in Philadelphia is seeking an HVAC Specialist to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building HVAC systems and related equipment. You will ensure reliable operation through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs for a safe, comfortable environment for employees and customers.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of technical training or 5 years related experience, with familiarity with steam, hot water, and refrigeration equipment, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. 2 years technical school or 5 years related experience also acceptable.
• Experience in installation, operation, maintenance, testing and repair of HVAC systems and components.
• Knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements; ability to obtain CDL and own or obtain designated hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, test and overhaul HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Inspect, disassemble, repair, and test HVAC components including boilers and burners.
• Locate and diagnose electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls; perform repairs as needed.
• Install and repair HVAC equipment parts such as belts, pulleys, gears, and fittings.
• Adhere to safety policies; report hazards and ensure personal and public safety.
