Job Title: Service Technician

The Service Technician will work independently or as part of a team and will be responsible for the installation, startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of commercial HVACR equipment, systems, and units.

Job Duties:

1. Serve existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily travel schedules, investigating complaints, conducting tests, and resolving problems.
2. Establish service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installations, and performing acceptance tests.
3. Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
4. Keep personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
5. Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
6. Maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
7. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
8. Contribute to operations and organizational goals by completing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a service vehicle for an HVAC contractor and ability to work with a team.
2. VRF experience is preferred.
3. BAS/DDC Controls experience is desired.
4. Own tools required.
5. Reliable with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
6. Willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug test.
7. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
8. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to handle and lift tools and equipment used in air conditioning service work. Regularly required to stand, use hands, talk, hear, walk, reach, and occasionally sit. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and more with assistance. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Reasonable accommodations are available.

Education/Experience:

Technician’s Degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with an HVAC certificate and five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
