Job summary

John Betlem Heating & Cooling, part of TurnPoint Services, is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems. You will work directly with customers, ensuring high-quality service and first-time fixes.

The role requires 3+ years in HVAC service, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. A valid driver’s license and physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential or light commercial HVAC service.
• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficient in diagnosing HVAC equipment and reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and system tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues efficiently and accurately.
• Recommend repairs, upgrades, or system replacements as needed and explain options to customers clearly.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, building codes, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and parts usage logs.
• Collaborate with dispatch, supervisors, and other technicians to ensure timely and professional service.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
• Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and professional appearance.
