Our client is a privately owned commercial HVAC company with 40+ years serving Southern California, and they're hiring now in Coachella Valley, Los Angeles, and Ventura County. Interviewing this week, ready to start immediately.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment - RTUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, VFDs, heat pumps, VAV, VRF/VRV, exhaust systems, and large tonnage units.
Perform system checks, adjustments, refrigerant charging, leak testing, and component replacement.
Handle scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment running reliably and efficiently.
Install and start up new commercial HVAC systems and components.
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
Verify system performance against manufacturer specs.
Explain issues and repair options to customers in plain terms.
Log work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Represent the company professionally on every job site.
Follow OSHA, EPA, and local mechanical code requirements.
Handle refrigerants per EPA Section 608 guidelines.
Keep a clean, safe work environment.
Run diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and hand/power tools.
Log work orders and parts through a mobile device or software.
Keep your company vehicle and tools in safe working order.
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.10+ years preferred, and pays at the top of our range.
EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Able to lift 50+ lbs and work rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments.
Trade school or HVAC technical training certificates.
State or local HVAC license (if applicable).
Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
Knowledge of energy-management and control systems.
Pay: $35-$70+hr, based on experience. Top of range for techs with 10+ years experience.
