Join to apply for the HVAC Service Technician role at IES Residential. Bayonet Plumbing, Cooling and Heating, a division of IES Residential, has immediate openings for experienced, career-oriented residential HVAC service technicians in the Clermont, FL area.

Job Summary

Experienced HVAC Service Technician needed to perform service calls, diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, replacements, and installations for residential and light commercial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Calls & Diagnostics:
    • Respond promptly to service requests.
    • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and identify HVAC malfunctions.
    • Test and evaluate system components to determine necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Perform preventive maintenance tasks: cleaning/replacing filters, inspecting coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating fans and motors.
    • Conduct seasonal system tune‑ups for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Repair, Replacement & Installation:
    • Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, thermostats, motors, valves.
    • Perform system upgrades or complete installations following manufacturer specs and code.
  • Customer Communication & Service:
    • Communicate clearly with customers about system issues, proposed repairs, maintenance options.
    • Educate homeowners on system care, energy‑saving tips, service plans.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of service visits, diagnostics, repairs, parts used.
    • Complete work orders, service tickets, electronic documentation via mobile apps or forms.
  • Safety, Compliance & Environmental Practices:
    • Follow safety procedures, handle refrigerants/hazardous materials properly.
    • Ensure all work complies with local, state, federal codes and environmental regulations.
  • Team Collaboration & Scheduling:
    • Coordinate with dispatchers and other technicians to optimize routes.
    • Support teammates through knowledge sharing, mentoring, collaboration on complex repairs.
Qualifications
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with a 3‑year clean record.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience servicing HVAC systems (residential and/or light commercial).
  • Valid EPA Certification.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in using HVAC diagnostic tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • Minimum 3 years HVAC Service Tech experience.
  • HVAC tools required: torches, manifold gauges, multimeter, vacuum pump, hand tools.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Climb ladders, work in crawl spaces and attics, handle outdoor conditions year‑round.
  • Work in environments with dust, heat, noise, tight spaces.
