Job summary

Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician in Iowa City to diagnose, maintain, and repair residential heating and cooling systems with a strong emphasis on customer service. You will train and mentor other technicians while delivering reliable, high-quality service.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 AM–4:00 PM) with some evenings and weekends as needed, along with competitive pay and solid benefits.

Qualifications

• 4 years of verifiable HVAC Service Technician experience.
• NATE certification.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling license.
• Low-voltage license.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work from a 28-foot extension ladder and 12-foot step ladder.
• Located in or near Iowa City.
• Ability to provide your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Explain system conditions and repair recommendations to customers.

We're hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician in Iowa City to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of residential heating and cooling systems.

You'll also have the opportunity to assist with training and mentoring maintenance and service technicians, so your experience can benefit more than just the customers on your service calls.

Your Role

As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems while delivering professional service to every customer.

You’ll use your technical knowledge to:

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Diagnose heating and cooling system problems
• Work with a variety of residential HVAC equipment
• Assist with training and mentoring other maintenance and service technicians
• Explain system conditions and repair recommendations to customers
• Maintain a professional and organized approach to every service call

What You Bring

The right person for this position is technically capable, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently.

Required qualifications:

• 4 years of verifiable HVAC Service Technician experience
• NATE certification
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling license
• Low-voltage license

We're also looking for someone with strong communication skills, good organization and time management, reliability, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude.

Preferred but not required: HVAC trade school education, EPA certification, and multiple NATE certifications.
