Summit Construction Advisors in Austin, TX is seeking an HVAC Service Manager to lead and grow our service operations. This leadership role offers the chance to build high-performing teams, drive operational excellence, and strengthen long-term customer relationships while owning day-to-day performance of a growing service business.

You will coach technicians, monitor metrics, partner with executives on growth, ensure project execution, hire and develop staff, and advance safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial HVAC service operations with leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and building codes
• Experience leading field service teams and driving performance
• Ability to manage revenue goals, productivity metrics, and service performance
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
• Licenses, certifications, or registrations as required

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach service technicians and field supervisors daily
• Monitor service metrics, productivity, and labor efficiency
• Partner with senior leadership to execute growth strategies and achieve revenue goals
• Build and maintain strong client relationships for successful project execution
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management while fostering high performance
• Review work orders and timesheets for accuracy and accountability
• Support business development and proposal efforts; identify service opportunities
• Provide technical guidance and assist with invoice resolution and escalated issues
• Lead safety initiatives with monthly meetings and field observations
• Participate in manager-on-call rotation for after-hours support

We're partnering with a leading, employee-owned MEP contractor to identify an HVAC Service Manager to lead and grow their service operations. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and developing long-term customer relationships while owning the day-to-day performance of a growing service business.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Lead and manage a team of service technicians and field supervisors, providing coaching, direction, and day-to-day operational support
• Drive operational performance by monitoring key service metrics, technician productivity, labor efficiency, and overall business results
• Partner with senior leadership to execute business strategies, achieve revenue goals, and support continued growth within the service division
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring exceptional service, timely communication, and successful project execution
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and disciplinary actions while fostering a positive, high-performance culture
• Review technician productivity, work orders, and timesheets to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and accountability across the team
• Support business development efforts by identifying service opportunities, assisting with proposal development, and helping maximize prefabrication opportunities where applicable
• Provide technical guidance to customers and field teams while assisting with invoice resolution, accounts receivable support, and escalated service issues
• Lead safety initiatives by conducting monthly safety meetings, performing field observations, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all company, state, and local safety regulations
• Participate in the manager on-call rotation and provide leadership support during after-hours service operations

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience within commercial HVAC service operations, with progressive leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, service processes, and applicable building codes
• Proven experience leading and developing field service teams while driving operational performance and customer satisfaction
• Strong business acumen with the ability to manage revenue goals, productivity metrics, labor efficiency, and overall service performance
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a collaborative management style
• Experience managing hiring, employee development, and performance management
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
• Applicable licenses, certifications, or registrations as required by the position
