Job summary

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, a division of IES, is seeking an HVAC Service Area Manager to oversee daily operations within the service area and achieve customer satisfaction and operational goals.

The role requires leadership of technicians, strong HVAC knowledge, and a commitment to safety and service quality in residential settings. Travel to residential locations is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an HVAC Service Manager or in a similar leadership role.
• Thorough knowledge of residential HVAC systems and service operations.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in inventory management and operational oversight.
• Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Relevant HVAC certifications, including EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and increase retention levels for HVAC Service Technicians.
• Manage five or more technicians, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness in daily operations.
• Review technician performance, service calls, and completed work for accuracy and quality assurance.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to service technicians while elevating customer service standards.
• Assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex residential HVAC system issues.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and service-related concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist in managing inventory to ensure the availability of necessary parts, tools, and equipment.
• Uphold and enforce all company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and company expectations.
• Maintain operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
