Job summary

Havtech is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our Richmond, VA team. You will support the development, implementation, training, updating, and auditing of a comprehensive Safety program across all locations to promote a safety-focused culture and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will assist with inspections, incident management, investigations, and overall program administration, with additional responsibilities in building security and fleet management.

Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing a career in Occupational Safety and Health and growth as a professional.
• Experience with HVAC, commercial construction, and/or other related technical work preferred.
• DOT Compliance experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and State safety regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of safety programs, policies and practices in HVAC and warehousing.
• Strong communication, influencing and diplomacy skills.
• Strong cross-functional strategic leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs and initiatives by influencing employees’ actions toward safer choices.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and plan reviews to identify unsafe conditions and gaps.
• Deliver a wide variety of safety training for employees.
• Maintain safety training tracking system for all locations.
• Conduct incident investigations and determine corrective actions.
• Support management of fleet assets and facility security systems.
