Job summary

Boutte, LA-based Walmart HVAC/R technician role involves installing and maintaining commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, including direct digital controls and building pneumatics. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include leading field teams, mentoring apprentices, coordinating with customers, and traveling within the region. Requires EPA certification and Journeyman status where applicable; on-call work is included.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification with field experience in commercial settings.
• EPA refrigerant handling certification (Type I/II or Universal) required.
• Journeyman level HVAC/R license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems and related components.
• Configures direct digital controls to meet specs and codes.
• Interprets blueprints and schematics for proper system setup.
• Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues; performs repairs.
• Implements preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Maintains and repairs racks, walk-ins, and refrigeration units.
• Ensures OSHA and EPA 608 compliance during service activities.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices on safety and procedures.
• Coordinates with customers and external providers; documents work orders.
• Works across multiple facilities and on-call rotations.
