Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician in Ames, IA to maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems across the store facilities. The role supports stores with proactive repairs, safety compliance, and efficient operation of refrigeration assets.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using appropriate tools.
• Receive and document repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates.
• Inspect facilities and diagnose issues with HVAC/R equipment.
• Complete training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations per Walmart safety policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights frequently.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
