Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC is seeking an HVAC/R Technician for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.). The role requires 5+ years in HVAC/R, a high school diploma or GED, and a technical certificate or degree in HVAC/R is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical Certificate or Degree in HVAC/R highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC/R field preferred.
• Current Universal Refrigerant handling certificate.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and programming issues related to HVAC/R.
• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete regular daily inspection of key HVAC/R equipment plantwide.
• Complete runtime and downtime HVAC/R Preventative Maintenance as required plantwide.
• Troubleshoot HVAC/R related issues, establish root cause, and complete repairs.
• Plan and implement corrective actions.
• Work knowledge of industrial electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform additional maintenance work as required.
• Track time through work order completion.
• Keep work areas clean and tools organized to ensure operability.
• Complete any HVAC/R tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or plant leadership.
• Promote a team environment.

Carlex is seeking a HVAC/R Technician to join our 1st shift team from Monday through Friday. The shift is 8 hours from 6am to 2:30pm.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Technical Certificate or Degree from an accredited trade
  school, college, or university highly preferred

Years of Experience:

• 5 + years of experience in the HVAC/R field preferred

Other Requirements:

• Current Universal Refrigerant handling certificate
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and
  programming issues as related to HVAC/R
• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be
  required as work load or projects dictate, including
  weekends and holidays
