Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair supermarket refrigeration systems. You will perform routine maintenance with supervision and contribute to system optimization while delivering high customer service.

The role includes hands-on training opportunities, a company vehicle, and a sign-on bonus; nights/weekends may be required depending on branch needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• HVAC-R Technical School Degree preferred.
• External candidates: 5 years in the field or 3 years with Certification from a Technical School.
• Internal candidates: 1 year as a Qualified Technician with completion of OJT & Skills Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and merchandisers.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning systems with supervision.
• Conduct preventative maintenance including compressor changes, leaks, and coil washing.
• Repair leaks, solder joints, and replace motors; check vacuum, temperatures and sensors.
• Complete tickets and invoices; communicate with customers using proper terminology.
• Maintain truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance program.
• Understand basic electrical schematics (volts, amps, ohms) and TEV troubleshooting.
• Handle R290 refrigerant safely and follow safety procedures.
