Job summary

MSS, a Crete United Company, seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to troubleshoot, service, and repair HVAC systems in the Little Rock area and surrounding counties. The role requires 5+ years of HVAC maintenance experience and an EPA certification, with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

You will inspect, test, and balance systems, document faults, and install or modify components in line with blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Certification is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components in built systems and packaged units.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals and bearings.
• Inspect and test HVAC systems for compliance with plans and specs.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following procedures.
• Record faults and time/materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls per manufacturer settings to balance systems.
• Develop or perform maintenance like cleaning, lubricating, or replacing filters.
• Install components such as valves, ducts, pipes, and dampers per blueprints.
• Study blueprints and specs to ensure proper installation of equipment.
• Fabricate or install ductwork and chassis parts with appropriate tools.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS) is a Crete United company based in West Monroe, LA. MSS is a specialty contractor in heating ventilating and air conditioning. It is a great time to join us as we continue to expand throughout the state and beyond.

Our team is looking to hire a Commercial HVAC technician to troubleshoot, maintain and repair HVAC systems. Technician must have 5 years of HVAC Technician Service experience as well as an EPA certification. The position is full-time and offers many great benefits and room for growth within the organization. This position will service the Little Rock AR area and surrounding Counties SW and SE of Little Rock!

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Universally EPA Certified
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
