Job summary

MSS, a Crete United company, is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician based in Lake Charles, LA. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and installing HVAC systems across the surrounding area.

Applicants should have 3+ years of HVAC service experience and an EPA 608 certification. The position will be based out of Lake Charles and includes responsibility for equipment such as boilers, chillers and packaged units.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• HS diploma/GED plus equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, etc.
• Inspect and test systems per plans and specs to detect malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot HVAC and boiler systems based on customer concerns.
• Follow safety standards and maintain a clean work area.
• Record faults and time/materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls per manufacturer settings to balance systems.
• Maintain/perform maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, and filter changes.
• Install auxiliary components per blueprints (valves, ducts, pipes, dampers).
• Study blueprints and specs to ensure proper installation of components.
• Fabricate/assemble/install duct work and chassis parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS) is a Crete United company in West Monroe, LA. MSS is a specialty contractor in heating ventilating and air conditioning. It is a great time to join us as we continue to expand throughout the state and beyond.

Our team is looking to hire a Commercial HVAC technician to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install HVAC systems. Technician must have 3 years of HVAC Technician Service experience as well as an EPA 608 certification. This position will be based out of Lake Charles and cover the surrounding counties.

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Universally EPA Certified
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
