Job summary

Mechanical Systems & Service in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install HVAC systems. Travel to Northern Mississippi 1–2 weeks per month; this is a union position with generous benefits.

Requirements include 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to read schematics. A High School diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Record and report faults and time/materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls as per manufacturer recommendations.
• Install components to HVAC equipment following blueprints
• Study blueprints and specifications to ensure proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts
• Other duties as assigned

Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS) is a Crete United company in West Monroe, LA. MSS is a specialty contractor in heating ventilating and air conditioning. It is a great time to join us as we continue to expand throughout the state and beyond.

Our team is looking to hire a Commercial HVAC technician to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install HVAC systems. Technician must have 3 years of HVAC Technician Service experience as well as an EPA 608 certification. This position will entail travel to Northern MS 1-2 weeks a month from MON-THUR home on FRI, SAT, SUN, this is a union position with amazing Union benefits!

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Universally EPA Certified
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
