Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking an HVAC/R Operations Technician to support its new wafer fabrication facility in Boise, Idaho. You will work with skilled maintenance technicians to operate and maintain critical systems, ensuring reliability and safety in a high-stakes production environment.

The role requires 1 year of HVAC/R or related experience, compliance with cleanroom garment protocols, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in HVAC/R, building upkeep or manufacturing.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) including day/night rotations.
• Cleanroom garment safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of mechanical and HVAC/R systems including chiller plants, compressed air, and cleanroom HVAC/R.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on facilities equipment with record-keeping and calibration.
• Monitor systems through rounds, readings, and alarm surveillance; diagnose faults using P&ID and diagrams.
• Respond to system failures to restore equipment with minimal downtime.
• Interpret refrigeration cycles and electrical schematics to support maintenance and optimization.
• Uphold safety standards including LOTO and NFPA 70E; participate in Emergency Response Team.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal customers while handling gases and chemicals safely.
• Meet physical job demands: lifting 25-40 pounds, standing extended shifts, confined spaces.
