Job summary

Micron's Facilities Team seeks an HVAC/R Operations Technician for our Boise, Idaho wafer fabrication facility. You will work with skilled trades to operate and maintain critical systems essential for production, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and collaboration.

The role requires 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, a commitment to quality records, and the ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC/R equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in HVAC/R, building upkeep, or manufacturing.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and rotate days/nights regularly.
• Must wear fab-cleanroom garments and PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of HVAC/R systems, including chiller plants, compressed air, heating/cooling water systems, cleanroom HVAC/R, process exhaust, and general building HVAC/R.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep accurate records for maintenance, testing, calibrations, and parts stocking.
• Monitor systems through rounds, readings, and alarm surveillance; diagnose faults using P&ID drawings and diagrams.
• Respond quickly to system failures and alarms to restore equipment with minimal downtime.
• Interpret refrigeration cycles, electrical schematics, and operational data to support issue resolution and optimization.
• Uphold safety standards including LOTO and NFPA 70E; participate as ERT member.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal customers while safely handling gases and chemicals.
• Meet physical job demands including lifting 25–40 pounds, standing long shifts, and navigating confined spaces.
