Job summary

LG Electronics North America is seeking a Product Development Engineer II for its HVAC R&D Center in Alpharetta, GA. You will develop expertise in manufacturing and developing HVAC equipment to deliver better value to customers, based on analytical thinking and market understanding.

As the Product Development Engineer II, you will provide HVAC engineering insight, screen and analyze performance, evaluate field data statistically, identify design weaknesses, and assist in creating manuals for US

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to multi-task and operate independently.
• Experience with agency certifications (CSA, UL, DOE) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal problem solving and analytical skills.
• 3D CAD knowledge and interpreting drawings with GD&T.
• Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel with macros.

Responsibilities

• Provide HVAC engineering insight and improvement solutions for new HVAC product development.
• Screen, analyze and support new HVAC product performance; provide next steps.
• Statistically evaluate, interpret and support collected product data.
• Evaluate data from field-based testing using statistical methods.
• Review shortcomings and faults of current design to identify weaknesses and improvement points.
• Communicate with HVAC R&D and labs to provide US usage-based statistics.
• Support acquisition hardware/software to create lab acquisition models.
• Assist in preparing service, installation and engineering manuals for US commercialization after product launch.
