Job summary

LG Electronics is seeking a Product Development Engineer II for its HVAC R&D Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. You will develop expertise in the manufacturing and development of HVAC equipment to provide better value to customers, conducting research and development based on analytical thinking and market understanding.

As the Product Development Engineer II, you will provide HVAC engineering insights, evaluate product performance, analyze data, and support lab testing and documentation for US

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 1+ years of experience.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturability considerations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Proficient in GD&T and interpreting drawings.
  • 3D CAD knowledge; MS Excel with macros.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HVAC engineering insight and improvement solutions for new HVAC product development.
  • Screen, analyze and support new HVAC product performance; provide recommendations.
  • Statistically evaluate and interpret product data; support lab testing.
  • Evaluate field data and lab results using statistical methods.
  • Identify design weaknesses and propose improvements.
  • Support acquisition hardware/software for lab models and data.
  • Assist in preparing service, installation, and engineering manuals for US commercialization.

The Opportunity:

To continually strengthen its base and support its growth in the US, LG Electronics is extending it's HVAC Research and Innovation capabilities. We are seeking a Product Development Engineer II to join our HVAC R&D Center located in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Product Development Engineer will develop expertise in the manufacturing and development of LGE HVAC equipment to provide better value to it's customers, where you will conduct research and development based on analytical thinking and market understanding.

As the Product Development Engineer II, you will:

  • Provide HVAC Engineering insight and improvement solution for new HVAC product development.
  • Screen, analyze and support new HVAC product performance, and provide recommendations for next steps.
  • Statistically evaluate, interpret and support collected product data.
  • Evaluate, analyze and support data collected from field-based testing data using statistical approach.
  • Review shortcomings and faults of current design to pinpoint weaknesses and improvement points.
  • Communicate and support various HVAC R&D and factory laboratories to provide US usage-based engineering and design statistics.
  • Understand and support acquisition hardware/software to create acquisition models for lab purpose.
  • Assist in preparation for service manual, installation manual and engineering manual for US commercialization after product launch.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience.
  • HVAC experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate independently.
  • Experience with one of the following agency certifications (CSA, UL, or DOE) is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal problem solving and analytical skills.
  • 3D CAD software knowledge and interpreting drawings with knowledge in GD&T.
  • Proficient, high-level skills in Microsoft Power Point and Excel with macro for programming.

Recruiting Range$70,000—$80,000 USD
