Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support a lab expansion in Minnesota. You will assemble prototype HVAC units, wire electrical systems, and install instrumentation according to engineering guidance.

The role requires hands-on experience in mechanical test labs, related certifications, and a commitment to safe practices. Hybrid mentorship may be available for senior technicians.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related HVAC&R experience is required.
• Experience in a mechanical test lab or field service is preferred.
• Fork truck, man lift, or refrigerant handling certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototype HVAC units from BOMs, CAD drawings, and engineering directions.
• Install instrumentation on test units per standard lab methods.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities to engineering and design stakeholders.
• Provide solutions to mechanical/electrical problems and suggest product improvements.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and comply with EH&S policies.
• Maintain communication with lab and project teams; obtain required certifications.
• Perform test unit setup and document activities per procedures.
• Create records of prototype builds and improve laboratory activities.
