Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks an experienced HVAC Test Engineer III to lead testing for new products in a Plymouth, MN laboratory. You will troubleshoot test cells, manage data acquisition and reporting, and drive improvements in test equipment and methods.

The role requires 4+ years in engineering, strong data analytics, and the ability to coordinate with product teams on complex automated test setups. Onsite in Minnesota with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive engineering responsibility.
• Knowledge of testing methods for components, systems, and machines.
• Knowledge of statistical methods for test and product development.
• Ability to plan and prioritize multiple activities in a constrained environment.
• Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Experience interpreting engineering standards and testing procedures.
• Experience with automated test setups and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Apply and develop skills related to mechanical and electrical HVAC systems for new product development.
• Lead troubleshooting of test cells, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
• Create technical project plans for upgrades to capital test equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing expectations.
• Champion data collection, verification, and reporting processes.
• Provide oversight for testing activities to ensure quality and integrity.
• Implement laboratory process improvements for productivity and metrics.
• Interpret external testing standards for internal procedures.
• Develop new testing methodologies for complex needs.
• Coordinate with product engineers and technicians; guide junior staff.
